Cancellation and Refunds Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
Before a contract is accepted.
Either party may decline or withdraw a proposed contract at no charge — no payment has been collected at this stage.
After acceptance, before payment.
Contract terms can be renegotiated or the contract can be cancelled by mutual agreement with no payment involved.
After payment (escrow funded).
Once a Hirer's payment is held in escrow, funds are released to the Worker upon work completion and confirmation, or as otherwise agreed by both parties. If a Hirer and Worker cannot agree, either party may raise a dispute through the platform, and ProofIt will review the evidence provided to determine an appropriate resolution, which may include a full or partial refund to the Hirer.
Refund processing time.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically take 5–7 business days to reflect, depending on your bank/payment provider.
Platform fees.
If a dispute is resolved in the Hirer's favor, ProofIt refunds the full amount paid, including the platform fee — no fee is retained on an approved dispute refund. Outside of a dispute resolution, the platform fee is non-refundable once a contract has been accepted, except where required by law or at our discretion in cases of platform error.
